Guys, this was so good! I just loved this juicy domestic thriller!
Part of the story was located in Derbyshire, where a piece of my heart lies, so how could I not love it?
I was so familiar with the setting, that I felt as if I was standing there watching the story unfold. Of course, that was also due to the author's exceptional writing skills.
As soon as Ed meets his daughter’s fiancé, Ryan, he senses that something is off with the guy. This handsome, athletic, intelligent man seems too perfect to be true and something just doesn’t feel right!
We as a reader cannot discern it and that makes you wonder if Ed might be the one with the problem.
I think part of the success of this book comes down to how relatable all the characters are! The dialogue and interactions are what you’d expect from normal people you know, so you immediately feel invested. You like them, feel for them, root for them!
Ed, our MC, is the only one behaving illogically and Logan did a fab job of alternating his trustworthiness. One moment you’re convinced his behaviour is justified, the next you know he’s bonkers. The procedure of seeing him go from a reasonable father and husband to a paranoid wreck was what sucked me right into the book!
I could hardly wait to see where Ed’s obsession would lead him and when his actions did indeed escalate and he overstepped all bounds, after various twists and turns, I was still sitting there wondering if he may be right or wrong.
This is one of those books you just can’t read fast enough!
I can’t wait to read 𝘛𝘳𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘔𝘦 now by the same author!
4 star read for me!
