This is my third book by Ruth Ware and I can see why they call her the new Agatha Christie!

I glimpsed some evident signatures from Christie’s work, such as someone trying to tell another person something important but they get killed before doing so!

This is the classical whodunnit ‘locked room’ mystery I adore!

A luxury Ski resort high up in the French Alps is the gorgeous setting for our story.

Without going too much into the plot, a group of people are confined in a Chalet after an avalanche hits part of the outside building shutting off electricity and land phone connections.

When one of them goes missing and another turns up dead, suspicions flare to life among friends and colleagues, as they gradually come to grips with the fact that a murderer is lurking among them...

Who can you trust, who’s the safest person to confide your suspicions to? Add to that a skiing accident (or was it?) no phone reception and a couple of well-kept secrets and you’ve got yourself the perfect book to cosy up to beside the fireplace!

The story is told from two POV, which I found a little limiting! I would have loved to know what was going on in some of the other character’s heads.

There were some little plot holes here and there but nothing so distracting as to interfere with the rating of the book! And the last few chapters were the kinds that grip you by the throat and never let you go until it’s all over... no matter how many times your hubby tries to have a conversation with you at that moment...

4 stars from me!
