Definition of Black Music: music created by African-American musicians; early forms were songs that had a melodic line and a strong rhythmic beat with repeated choruses. Now Black Music encompasses: blues, soul, gospel, rap, hip-hop, rhythm and blues, funk and jazz.

I am a woman of many passions and interests, one of which happens to be Black Music, or Rhythm and Blues, as it is more specifically called. Being Anglo-Italian, but living in Italy, I don't always feel that my insatiable need for good music is fully matched by what is currently out on the European Market these days.

Especially in the modern world of today, where there is a true lack of 'REAL' creative and inspirational music, some of us are beginning to go insane!

Listening over and over to good old-school jams (yes I'm sure we're many) is beginning to get depressing. But let's face it folks, where once there was an abundance of spectacular artists, and I'm not only talking about the R&B genre, today we are literally starving for some scraps of good vibes, even going so far as thinking Bruno Mars might be the new Roger Troutman. Yeah, I know!

 

So we sisters (and brothers) mindless of our colour, should stick together and try to find some consolation in the fact that there is still good music out there. Incredible, emerging artists are coming our way... we just need to keep searching and share our knowledge.

Hence this blog, where R&B/Soul lovers can come and hang out and hopefully get as much information as possible on what's new on the black music scene.

Sono una donna con molte passioni ed interessi, una delle quali è la Black Music, ovvero Rhythm and Blues, come viene più specificamente chiamato. Essendo anglo-italiana, ma residente in Italia, non sempre il mio bisogno insaziabile di buona musica viene compensata da ciò che il mercato europeo offre di questi tempi.

Soprattutto nel mondo moderno di oggi, in cui vi è una vera e propria mancanza di 'VERA' musica creativa, alcuni di noi stanno cominciando ad impazzire!
Ascoltare giorno dopo giorno vecchi brani della musica nera 'old-school' (sono sicura che siamo in molti) sta cominciando a deprimerci.

Ma diciamo la verità gente, un tempo c'era una grande varietà di artisti spettacolari, e non sto parlando solo del genere R & B, oggi invece siamo alla disperata ricerca di piccole 'briciole' di musica autentica, anche arrivando a pensare che Bruno Mars possa diventare il nuovo Roger Troutman. Si lo so!

 

Pertanto, amiche (e amici) dovremmo sostenerci a vicenda e cercare di trovare qualche consolazione nel fatto che c'è ancora buona musica là fuori. Incredibili artisti emergenti stanno facendo il loro ingresso nel mondo della musica nera... abbiamo solo bisogno di continuare a cercarli e condividere le nostre conoscenze.

Ecco il motivo di questo blog, dove gli amanti della R&B/Soul possono radunarsi e ottenere quante più informazioni possibili su ciò che c'è di nuovo sulla scena musicale nera.
